Rowell Unconscious In Locker Room, Foul Play Not Ruled out.
AP SPORTS
Minneapolis: just hours after Twin Cities based Pure Pro Wrestling crowned a new Heavyweight Champion at their first Supercard, entitled Redemption, the former champion was found unconscious in his locker room. "Blockbuster" C.J. Rowell, who hours earlier was defeated by Demetrius Burrell in front of over 10,000 screaming fans, was found out cold by the Target Center janitorial staff.
It was around one o'clock in the morning and all the other wrestlers and PPW staff had exited the building. One janitorial staff member, who requested to remain anonymous, said he heard one of the showers still running, which he thought was odd, so he entered the room, only to find Rowell sprawled out on the floor in just his towel.
The janitor stated he called his supervisor who then notified event security for the Target Center and the authorities. The police are said to be investigating everyone that was backstage at that event and will obtain video surveillance.
Rowell is in a local area hospital for observation. The latest word is that he is stable, and is coherent, yet does not remember anything at all that occurred last night, including his match. The former champion woke up asking where his belt was.
