Here is the latest news from SuperstarPRO.
- Masahiro Sakamoto returns to main event action this Saturday night at Ota Ward Plaza in Tokyo against "the Birmingham Bomber" Oliver Silsbury. This match represents a true contrast in styles. Sakamoto is an amazing all around fighter who is capable on the mat, on his feet, and in the air. Silsbury is a text book example of the "ground and pound" style and is known for his very snug, physical style. Sakamoto, a former Iron Crown Heavyweight Champion, is not taking Silsbury lightly at all. "Silsbury is always one strike away from knocking out his opponent," said Sakamoto outside a Tenchu-Do training session. "I have always respected his ability and his dedication both in and out of the ring to the sport of professional wrestling. In my opionion, he's one of the toughest men in the world. I'll have to be ready for him". -
- Jushin Shinjitsu has also had Oliver Silsbury on his mind. Silsbury made several pointed statements about Shinjitu's brutal mauling of S-PRO newcomer Kozan Harada. Shinjitsu, who will be facing Humano Kaito this Saturday night has stated that Silsbury should mind his own business or "pay the price for crossing my path". -
- In what could be a very interesting tag team match up, junior heavyweight rookies Seifuku and Musha will debut against fellow rookies and heavyweight powerhouses Okina Tsukuyomi and Yamada Susanoo. Seifuku and Musha will be giving up roughly two hundred pounds to their opponents. However, the junior heavyweight tandem have been working extremely hard in training sessions leading up to their debut this Saturday. They have reportedly been working on their special team moves including a strike combo called the "double dragon" that Jason Ramsey himself has said is a very impressive weapon. -
- Garret Bishop continues his run in Pure Pro Wresting in the U.S. This Saturday night, Bishop will face Papes in Soux Falls South Dakota. Bishop originally join PPW to support Dusty Griffith and has stated repeatedly that he will stay in PPW as long as Griffith wants him there. We talked to Bishop on the phone last night from his home in New Hampton, Iowa.
"Papes is a symptom of the decomposition of the sport of pro-wrestling. On top of that he's a coward. He doesn't have the skill to hang with me in the ring and he knows it. The guys here talk and talk, Papes and his partner Lucky most of all, but can't back it up in the ring. I'm ready for all the talking to be done. I'm ready to beat the crap out of Papes and anyone that comes to help him. This is all just part of a holding pattern and Dusty and I both know it. All we're asking is a chance at the PPW Tag Team Championship. There is no one in PPW that can compete with us on our level. This is only the beginning of the domination that Dusty Griffith and Garret Bishop are capable of. The QB:K9's just happen to be in the way and if Team Elite wants a piece, they can line pup to get hurt as well."
