As many of you know, Aaron Vasquez was forced to take a leave of absence from the world of professional wrestling after his heinous attempt to stab Jeff Andrews at Wrestle Coast: Cascadia’s One Year Anniversary show. Vasquez was granted extreme leniency from the authorities, but was forced out of action for the betterment of six months due to his behavior.
Now that Vasquez is ready to return to wrestling; he has vowed to keep himself busy and has the drive to become more than just a “tough guy”, Chico intends to be a success. The road to success started last night in Florida, when Aaron Vasquez made in in-ring return for the independent promotion A.C.W.
Vasquez was up against cruiserweight champion “Stardust” – who clearly oblivious to “Chico’s” past, and gave the Queens native very little respect. These tactics clearly served as strong motivation for the leader of the QB:K9’s - as he mopped the floor with the ACW champion in mere minutes, becoming the new Cruiserweight champion.
This would appear to be a wonderful Omen for Vasquez, as he looks to keep his career on track this time around.
Upon breaking into the business in late 2006, Vasquez was forced to wait for his break until July of 2007 when “WC:C” came calling. Vasquez enjoyed much success –but was unsuccessful in becoming a singles champion. His rivalry with Dusty Griffith was one that fans will always remember, and now that these two men share the same locker room, lord knows what might happen.
We are to assume that Vasquez will be ‘ready’ for his Pure Pro Wrestling Debut, and will be showing up to the arena ten pounds heavier than usual.
